Guide to a spring photo session

What to wear guide

  • Remember to stick to your own style – this is a guide to try and get the best result. You want the photos to be timeless and the most important thing is you need to feel comfortable in what you are wearing.

  • For spring it is best to stick to neutral colour tones. You want to blend with each other but stand out from the background. There will be greens as the backdrop so avoid wearing all green and you can add a pop of colour.

  • Things to avoid: crazy patterns, thin stripes or large graphics. Colour blocks of all white and all black.

  • For family groups try to co-ordinate but avoid all wearing the same thing (ie. pale top and blue jeans). I suggest avoiding black but allow an exception if that is what you always wear and would feel uncomfortable in anything else!) As long as the whole family aren’t in black!

  • Bring a change of clothes if you want to add variety and layers are a good idea with the unpredictable British weather.

  • Feel free to send me some photos to show me what you have in mind if you are unsure.
